Greetings, SF Supporters,

Things have been very busy indeed, hence the absence of the August update. It has been a period of highs and lows. Let us start with the lows, and end with the highs, shall we?

Most of you have already heard the shocking news that beloved long-time player and assistant coach of SF Stompers FC, Shane Kilby, died a week ago as the result of a tragic accident. He was but 26 years old. Please see this link for

Post World Cup

Hello Football Supporters,

Wow, let’s all take a deep breath and just think for a moment about how awesome a World Cup that was. Not only was it most exciting, but it also showed how important what we’re trying to do really is. Until every city in the USA has a club representing them, one that can support free to play academies for our youth players, we won’t take that next step. I think that we can do it though, and it all starts right in our own backyards.

Rolling Along

So much stuff going on, been too busy to write about it! But here goes:

First, congratulations to SF Stompers FC, who've been making a fight of it after last year's forgettable season. They are in third place in the Golden Gate Conference, and still in the fight for a play-off berth.

Second, the upgrades to our website are ongoing, and hopefully you enjoy them. Please give feedback on what we can do to improve things. We're going to try to shift more and more of ...

So many things going on!

First, we want to make sure all members who can possibly attend the 2014 Kick-Off Meeting do so. Check the calendar for details. Street Soccer USA, Vega Football Club, San Francisco Stompers FC, Bay Area Breeze, USF Soccer, are just some of the folks who will be in attendance. Also, we'll be raffling off a lot of cool prizes.

Hello, fellow San Francisco supporters!  Things are quite busy and exciting these days.  We have several events coming up very soon.  This Friday, the USF Dons are having their home opener, and next week we will be at US Men's and Women's National Team viewing parties here in town.  These will be going into the calendar soon, but in the meantime, check the Facebook page for invites and information.

Please join me in congratulating our new leadership counc...

Season Over, But Not The Fun.

Posted by michael.gonos on August 1, 2013 at 10:50 PM Comments comments (0)

Well, the season is over for both the Stompers and the Breeze. The Breeze finished on a high note by defeating the Sounders Women. While the Stompers lost their season finale, we supporters did manage to rock Sacramento's house rather nicely on our first group road trip. We are truly unique in this conference, being the only real supporter group.

Now, we must prepare for the next step, as we are not going to simply wait until next season for our work to recommence. Our effort...

A Result, and Progress.

Hi Folks,

So, the last home match for Stompers FC was fun indeed.  The boys finally got a point, via a draw with Sacramento.  The suspense of when our first win is going to come is killing, as the games have hardly been blow-outs.  I guarantee you, when we get those three points, the moment that whistle blows, it's pitch invasion time. Just as heartening are the signs that our group is advancing.  Here are some of the things we have on tap:

San Francisco and Ma...

Match Day Madness

Another loss for the team, but in this particular case, the match was not nearly so painful, as our guys went toe to toe against a very well trained Sonoma side.  Aaron Hunter scored an incredible goal from about 40 yards out, and that alone was worth the price of admission.  As you know, we all met up earlier that morning at Spitfire Rose, up the street from Boxer Stadium, to enjoy the Champions League final, and it was an excellent game.   Here are some take aways from the da...

Kick-off Meeting, Done!

Posted by michael.gonos on April 2, 2013 at 12:05 AM Comments comments (0)

Well, Mother Nature might have toyed with us a little bit, but after the folks at Mad Dog In The Fog put a cover over the pool table and gave us some benches, I'd say things went pretty smoothly. I want to thank everyone who made it out in the rain and hail, on a day when there were a ton of other things that they could have been doing. Not only that, but I never saw a group of people who were so gung ho, which, by the way, literally translates as "work together".

First Steps; First Thoughts

Welcome to the San Francisco Football Supporters Association. The site, as well as our group, is in its infancy and I can't tell you how happy I am to be able to help in some small way to lay the foundations for it as well as to be (hopefully) allowed time to watch it grow. There is something definitely to be said for carrying on a tradition, to receiving a torch from generations past and bearing it on for part of the way, until it can be given to the next. But there is also a great deal o...
